Onboarding Users With an AI Assistant Inside Your Fintech Product

70% of financial institutions lost clients last year because onboarding took too long. That figure comes from Fenergo's Financial Crime Industry Trends 2025, a survey of 600 senior decision-makers, and it is the highest the firm has ever recorded. The usual answer is another redesign of the same form. Our webinar is about the other answer: an assistant sitting inside the flow, explaining the thing a user was about to quit over. Where that works. Where it quietly makes your compliance position worse. Olga and Sergiy will look at the process from two opposite angles. We will figure out where the investment pays off and where adding new tech just ruins the customer experience.

DESCRIPTION

What you'll learn

Most fintech onboarding is a compliance workflow wearing a product costume. KYC wants documents, AML wants checks, and the user wants to know why a company they have given no money to is asking for a selfie. Signicat's Battle to Onboard research puts the average abandonment at 18 minutes and 53 seconds, down from 26 minutes in 2020. Patience is what shrank, not the paperwork. An assistant inside that flow can explain the ask, pre-fill what it already knows, and catch a bad document before a reviewer touches it. It can also invent a policy answer that sounds right, log data you never meant to store, and, since 2 August 2026, it has to tell people it is an AI system in the first place. This session sorts which of those you are signing up for.

Agenda

  • Why onboarding turned into a board-level number in 2026
  • What actually changes when an assistant sits inside the flow
  • Where assistants earn their keep, and where they fail quietly
  • The compliance line: disclosure, logging, human handoff
  • The verdict, then live Q&A
